Administrative move aims to ensure uninterrupted education and adherence to NEP norms

Srinagar, (DD)The Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department has ordered the takeover of 215 schools allegedly affiliated with the proscribed organisation Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) and Falah-e-Aam Trust (FAT).
The move follows a declaration by the Ministry of Home Affairs that the JeI, J&K, is an unlawful association. Intelligence reports reportedly identified several schools with direct or indirect links to the organisation, and concerns were raised over the validity and functioning of their managing committees.
The order directs District Magistrates and Deputy Commissioners to assume management of the affected schools, constitute new managing committees after verification, and ensure that students’ academic progress is not disrupted. Officials are also tasked with maintaining education quality in line with National Education Policy (NEP) guidelines.
The 215 schools are spread across multiple districts, including Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Kupwara, Pulwama, Shopian, and Srinagar. Notable among them are Hazrat Amir Kabir Memorial School, Sheikh-Ul-Alam Memorial Institute, Paradise English Medium School, Syed Kamal-Din Bukhari Public School, Al-Huda Public School Binner, Iqra Public School Daulat Abad, and Ramzana Memorial Education Institute, Soura, among many others.
