Jammu, (DD): The Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday denied reports that ration distribution to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families had been stopped due to verification issues.
Responding to a query by MLA Mir Saifullah in the Assembly, the government clarified that all eligible households continue to receive food grains under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and at subsidized rates under the Non-Priority Household (NPHH) category.
The Minister in charge of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs assured that no beneficiary has been denied ration due to verification concerns. “All eligible households are receiving food grains as per their entitlement—free of cost under NFSA and at highly subsidized rates under NPHH,” he stated.(DD)
