Jammu, (DD): In a major reform aimed at ensuring transparency and merit-based recruitment, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has officially notified that no viva-voce, oral test, or interview shall be conducted for certain posts. As per a notification issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), the selection for these posts will now be based entirely on the candidates’ scores in the written test.
This move is expected to streamline the recruitment process, eliminate potential biases, and provide a level playing field for all applicants. The decision aligns with the broader push for efficiency and fairness in public sector employment.
While the government has not immediately released the specific list of posts covered under this new rule, officials suggest that the change will primarily impact non-gazetted and junior-level posts. Aspirants preparing for government jobs in Jammu and Kashmir have welcomed the decision, seeing it as a step toward greater transparency.
“This decision eliminates the possibility of favoritism and ensures that only merit prevails. It will also speed up the recruitment process, reducing delays caused by interview rounds,” said an unemployed youth preparing for competitive exams.
Recruitment notifications for these posts will now be issued with clear guidelines, ensuring that all candidates are aware of the revised selection criteria. Further details regarding the implementation of this policy are expected to be released soon by the concerned authorities.(DD)
