J&K Govt Offers Rs 10 Lakh Aid to Families of Pahalgam Attack Victims

Srinagar, (DD): In the wake of the tragic Pahalgam attack, the Jammu and Kashmir government has announced ex-gratia financial aid for the victims and their families. As per the official statement, Rs 10 lakh will be provided to the families of those who lost their lives.

Rs 2 lakh will be given to individuals who sustained serious injuries.

Rs 1 lakh will be extended to those with minor injuries.

The Chief Minister’s Office, in a post on X, stated: “The barbaric and senseless act of brutality against innocent civilians has no place in society. We mourn the precious lives lost. While no amount can truly compensate for such a loss, this assistance is a small gesture of solidarity with the grieving families.”

The government added that arrangements are being made to ensure the dignified transport of the deceased to their respective hometowns. The injured are being provided with the best available medical care.

“Our hearts go out to the bereaved families. We share their grief and stand by them in this dark hour. But violence will never break our resolve, and we will not rest until the perpetrators are brought to justice,” the Chief Minister’s statement concluded.

The announcement comes amid growing concerns over the safety of tourists in the Valley, with several groups from Gujarat, Maharashtra, and West Bengal cutting short their trips and flying home early following the incident.(DD)
