J&K Govt to Hold High-Level Meeting on Vacancy Status, Critical Administrative issues on Aug 13

Chief Secretary to Lead Review of Pending Selections, Un-Advertised Posts, and Departmental Promotion Committees

Jammu, DD, The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has scheduled a high-level meeting for Wednesday, August 13, 2025, to address a range of critical administrative issues, including the status of job vacancies, pending selections, and promotion quotas.

The meeting will be chaired by the Chief Secretary, J&K, and will include key administrative officials from various departments at 5:00 P.M in the Committee Room 3rd Floor, Srinagar, with Jammu-based officers participating virtually from the Civil Secretariat in Jammu.

The meeting notice, issued by, Under Secretary to the Government, outlines a comprehensive agenda aimed at reviewing the status of un-advertised posts and pending selections across government departments.

One of the primary points of discussion will be the status of vacancies referred to the J&K Public Service Commission (JKPSC) and the J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB), including those where clarifications are needed from indenting departments.

The agenda also includes a review of pending Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs), cases related to Retirement-cum-Appointment Scheme (RAS)/SRO-43, and pending Regular Departmental Action (RDA) cases.

To ensure a productive meeting, several officers have been requested to attend, either in person or virtually.

Attendees will include all Administrative Secretaries, the Chairman of the J&K Services Selection Board, the Secretary of the J&K Public Service Commission, and the Secretary of the J&K Services Selection Board.

The Jammu-based officers will connect via a virtual link from the Civil Secretariat’s Meeting Hall on the 2nd Floor.

Administrative Secretaries have been instructed to provide detailed information on vacancies in their respective departments, specifically those suitable for referral to recruiting agencies.

This information must be submitted in a specific format (Formats A and B) and shared with the General Administration Department by August 12, 2025. Similarly, they are also required to present information on the status of DPCs, using a different format (Formats C and D).

The Secretary of the JKPSC and the Secretary of the JKSSB have also been asked to furnish information on the first three agenda items in a PowerPoint presentation (PPT) to the General Administration Department by August 12, 2025.

Other officials, including the Additional Secretary to the Government (SRO-43/RAS Section) and the Deputy Secretary to the Government (Vigilance Section), have also been directed to provide details by the same deadline.
