Jammu, TDD: Continuing the crackdown against drug trafficking, Jammu and Kashmir Police attached properties worth Rs 1.04 crore in Ragoora of Jammu.
An official statement issued here saaid that the attached assets include two residential houses belonging to notorious drug peddlers Javed Ahmed and his son Abdul Majeed.
The properties were valued by a committee of engineers from the R&B and Revenue departments, which confirmed that those properties were acquired with the proceeds of illicit drug trade. The valuation of such properties has shown that they are far in excess of the legitimate sources of income of the owners.
The following properties have allegedly been acquired from the proceeds of illicit drug trade
In connection with the cases under the NDPS Act stated as under:- FIR No. 9/2023 at PS Nagrota, Jammu. FIR No. 33/2020 at PS Janipur, Jammu- FIR No. 39/2019 at PS Bagh-e-Bahu, Jammu
In last five months, the Jammu Police have also attached four other properties worth several crores in Rajeev Nagar and Ragoora areas.
Recoveries were made under the supervision of SSP Jammu, with the determination of the police against drug-related crime and how they discourage financial gains from such illegal activities. Locals and people on social media widely appreciated the move, saying that the act is the perfect way to counter drug trafficking in the district. TDD
