Bhaderwah,(DD) Jammu and Kashmir Police resolved the controversial Bhaderwah confession case, leading to the identification of individuals behind a fake Instagram account that spread defamatory content.
The case began on January 8, 2025, when a local resident filed a complaint at the Bhaderwah Police Station, claiming that an anonymous Instagram account, _bhaderwahconfessionpage, had been created using a fraudulent email address in his name. The account was spreading false and defamatory material about both boys and girls in the region, damaging personal reputations and causing widespread distress.
Following the complaint, an FIR (No. 03/2025) was registered at Bhaderwah Police Station, and the investigation was taken over by SDPO Bhaderwah. The police, with technical support from platforms like Meta and Google, and assistance from the ESU/Social Media Monitoring Cell of Doda, worked tirelessly to trace the culprits.
Thanks to coordinated efforts and advanced technical assistance, the police identified the individuals responsible for running the controversial account. The suspects’ gadgets have been seized for forensic analysis, and further investigations are ongoing to ensure accountability for the harmful content.
An official statement from the Jammu and Kashmir Police read: “We have successfully identified the culprits behind the malicious Instagram account that was causing distress in Bhaderwah. The police have taken necessary action and seized the involved gadgets for forensic examination. We assure the public that further investigation will continue, and those responsible will be held accountable for their actions.”
