J&K POLICE DISTRICT KISHTWAR CONDUCTS RAID; NARCOTICS SMUGGLER HELD WITH 11 GRAMS OF HEROIN-LIKE SUBSTANCE

Kishtwar, DD, In a major crackdown on drug peddling, J&K Police District Kishtwar apprehended a narcotics smuggler and recovered contraband from his possession, reinforcing its commitment to a drug-free society.

SSP Kishtwar, Sh. Javaid Iqbal Mir-JKPS, stated that acting on credible information regarding the sale and purchase of narcotics, Kishtwar Police registered FIR No. 42/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act against Abdul Ghani, son of Gh. Rasool Ganai, resident of Ganai Mohalla Kucchal, Tehsil Mughal Maidan, presently residing at the house of Reyaz Ahmed in Kandoo Mohalla, Kishtwar.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted led by SHO PS Kishtwar, Insp. Firdous Ahmed, assisted by PSI Nishant Salgotra, along with a dedicated police team. Under the supervision of Dy. SP Hqrs Dr. Ishan Gupta-JKPS, the team conducted a swift and well-coordinated raid at the suspect’s location in the presence of an Executive Magistrate. During the raid, 11 grams of heroin-like substance were recovered from the accused’s possession.

SSP Kishtwar issued a stern warning to drug syndicates, urging them to abandon their illegal activities or face strict legal consequences. He reiterated that Kishtwar Police remains resolute in its mission to eradicate the drug menace and safeguard the youth from its harmful effects.
