J&K Police District Kishtwar Registers First E-FIR at Police Station Atholi

Kishtwar,DD, In a landmark development towards digital policing, Jammu and Kashmir Police District Kishtwar has successfully registered its first E-FIR at Police Station Atholi, marking a significant step in modernizing law enforcement services.

According to officials, Police Station Atholi received a telephonic complaint from a resident (name withheld), reporting that his 17-year-old minor daughter had gone missing from Gulabgarh. The complainant, who is currently in Jammu attending to his wife’s medical treatment, was unable to visit the police station in person to file the complaint.

Taking immediate cognizance of the matter, police promptly registered E-FIR No. 05/2025 U/S 137(2) BNS, ensuring a swift response to the distressing situation.

This move highlights the J&K Police’s commitment to digital transformation, making law enforcement more accessible and efficient for citizens. The implementation of the E-FIR system is expected to enhance policing services, allowing people to report incidents remotely and receive quicker assistance.

District Kishtwar police reaffirmed their dedication to citizen-friendly policing, emphasizing that technological advancements like E-FIRs will play a crucial role in strengthening law enforcement and ensuring public safety across the region.DD
