Announce Rs 5 lakh reward for information’

Kishtwar, (DD): In a significant move to intensify the fight against terrorism, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kishtwar district have released posters of four active terrorists, each carrying a bounty of Rs 5 lakh.

The police have called on the public to share any information about these individuals, assuring that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential to ensure their safety.

The posters, which feature the names, photographs, and other details of the wanted terrorists, have been widely circulated across the district. They have been displayed at prominent public locations, including marketplaces, bus stands, and other high-footfall areas, as part of the police’s ongoing efforts to involve citizens in combating terrorism.

“This initiative is a crucial step in our strategy to strengthen public participation in the fight against terrorism,” said a senior police official from Kishtwar. “We appeal to the general public to share any information, no matter how small it may seem. Every piece of intelligence can play a pivotal role in neutralizing these threats.”

The reward of Rs 5 lakh for each terrorist is aimed at incentivizing citizens to come forward with actionable intelligence. The police have set up dedicated helplines and have assured complete confidentiality to those who provide information. “We want to reassure everyone that the identity of informants will be protected at all costs. Their safety is our priority,” the official added.

This development comes as part of a broader effort by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir to dismantle terror networks in the region. Kishtwar, which has witnessed intermittent terrorist activity in the past, remains a focal point for counter-terrorism operations.

By involving the public, the police aim to strengthen the collective resolve to restore peace and security in the region. Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity in their vicinity.

The authorities have also highlighted the importance of community cooperation in ensuring the success of such operations. “Together, we can overcome these challenges and ensure a safer future for everyone,” the police official stated.

The release of the posters marks a renewed commitment by the J&K Police to eradicate terrorism from the region. As the operation unfolds, the security forces remain on high alert, and further updates are expected in the coming days.(DD)
