J&K to Experience Dry Weather Till March 25, Light Rain or Snow Expected in Higher Reaches

Diplomat Correspondent

Srinagar,(DD): The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has predicted a dry spell across Jammu and Kashmir until March 25, with chances of light rain or snow in isolated areas during the evening hours.

According to the forecast, the weather is expected to remain mostly clear and dry across the region, benefiting travelers and daily commuters. However, a spell of light rain or snowfall is likely in the higher reaches on March 26-27, bringing slight relief to the ongoing dry conditions. After this brief spell of precipitation, the weather is expected to turn dry again from March 28 to 31.

Authorities have advised travelers, tourists, and transporters to stay updated with official weather and traffic advisories, especially in hilly areas where changing conditions could affect road connectivity. Farmers have been encouraged to continue their agricultural activities, as the dry weather will allow uninterrupted fieldwork. Meanwhile, the public has been cautioned against venturing into sloppy terrains and avalanche-prone areas, particularly in higher altitudes.

The extended dry spell comes after intermittent winter snowfall, and while it provides a stable weather window, experts suggest monitoring temperature variations, which could influence water availability and farming activities in the coming weeks.(DD)
