Srinagar,(DD): Jammu and Kashmir is set to experience an extended dry spell from March 17 to 25, as per the latest forecast by the Meteorological Department Srinagar.
Director MeT Srinagar, Mukhtar Ahmed, confirmed the weather outlook, stating, “There will be no significant weather activity across Jammu and Kashmir during this period. Dry conditions will prevail, with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies. No major precipitation is expected.”
The forecast suggests a gradual rise in daytime temperatures, bringing some respite from the lingering winter chill. However, nighttime temperatures, especially in higher reaches, may still drop significantly. The dry conditions are also expected to benefit farmers, allowing them to proceed with agricultural activities without weather-related disruptions.
Meanwhile, travelers and residents in hilly areas have been advised to remain cautious about potential temperature fluctuations. The MeT Department will continue to monitor the situation and issue updates as needed. Authorities have urged people to stay informed through official weather bulletins, especially those planning travel to remote or high-altitude regions.(DD)
