Kishtwar,(TDD): The Jammu & Kashmir Tourism department has unveiled an exciting lineup of New Year celebrations at three of the region’s most scenic destinations—Bhaderwah, Patnitop, and Sanasar.

Designed to highlight the area’s rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes and thrilling adventure offerings, these events promise to deliver an unforgettable experience for visitors ringing in the new year.

The festivities in Bhaderwah will run from December 29 to 31, in collaboration with the District Administration Doda and the Bhaderwah Development Authority. Visitors can look forward to a magical celebration that includes the illumination of Bhaderwah Fort, cultural performances and stalls offering local cuisine. For thrill-seekers, Guldanda will serve as the hub for adventure activities, including skiing, sledging, zorbing, snow cycling, zip-lining, and even hot air ballooning. The celebrations will culminate on December 31 at the Bhaderwah Bus Stand, where cultural showcases and celebrity performances will keep the festive spirit alive.

The New Year’s Eve events at Patnitop and Sanasar will be held on December 31, with both locations offering a unique blend of entertainment and adventure. Sanasar will host DJ music, bonfires, horse races, and scenic selfie stations for visitors to capture the stunning winter landscapes. Meanwhile, Patnitop will feature celebrity performances, folk dances, live music, and an ethnic food bazaar, alongside winter sports such as skiing and sledging. The area’s snow-covered landscapes and festive decorations will provide the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable celebration.

In a statement, Vikas Gupta, Director of Tourism Jammu, said the department’s commitment to establishing these destinations as premier winter getaways. “These events are designed to offer a unique and immersive experience, blending the region’s cultural heritage with its natural beauty and adventure opportunities,” he said.

Sunaina Sharma Mehta, Joint Director of Tourism Jammu, also highlighted the untapped potential of the region, noting that these celebrations offer visitors a chance to experience both adventure and tradition. “Our breathtaking landscapes and rich culture, coupled with exciting adventure activities, make these celebrations an ideal way to welcome the New Year. We warmly invite everyone to join us,” she added.

The Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Department is inviting locals and visitors alike to join in the celebrations, explore the Valley’s natural beauty and immerse themselves in its vibrant cultural traditions. As the year comes to a close, these events promise to create lasting memories for all who attend.(TDD)
