Jammu, (DD)The Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) hosted a special edition of its literary series “Meet the Author”, honouring renowned Hindi writer, editor, and academic Dr Chanchal Dogra (Sharma) for her outstanding contributions to Hindi literature.
Welcoming the guests, Harvinder Kour, Secretary JKAACL, emphasised that the aim of the programme is to document and celebrate the literary and artistic contributions of poets, writers, and artists from Jammu and Kashmir. She lauded Dr Dogra’s enduring literary achievements, noting how her works consistently reflect women’s voices, societal challenges, and cultural ethos.
Dr Dogra was felicitated with a shawl, memento, and floral token of appreciation in the presence of distinguished guests, including Sonali Arun Gupta, Additional Secretary JKAACL; Dr Javaid Rahi, Divisional Head Jammu; and senior literary personalities Prof P.N. Trisal, Dr R.L. Shant, and Dr A.S. Amn, former Additional Secretary JKAACL.
A scholarly paper was presented by Dr Adarsh Prakash, who provided an insightful analysis of Dr Dogra’s literary journey, thematic range, and stylistic richness.
During the session titled “Main Aur Meri Sahityik Yatra”, Dr Dogra recounted her five-decade-long literary voyage, speaking candidly about her evolution as a writer, the challenges she faced as a woman in the literary realm, and her commitment to creating literature rooted in truth, resilience, and the human spirit.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr Javaid Rahi, who praised Dr Dogra’s impactful body of work and expressed gratitude to the audience for their active participation.
