JU hosts lecture on “Cyber Security”

Jammu:TDD, The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) in collaboration with the Department of Botany, University of Jammu, successfully organized an engaging lecture on “Cyber Security”. The session was delivered by Mohd Yassen Kichloo, Senior Superintendent of Police (Crime) and CICE, Jammu and Kashmir, who brought his vast expertise to the discussion.

The lecture aimed to raise awareness about the growing challenges of cybercrime and its far-reaching implications in the digital era. Kichloo delved into various dimensions of cyber security, including emerging trends in cybercrimes, safeguarding sensitive data, and the ethical use of digital platforms. Using real-world case studies, he offered insights into the practical challenges faced by law enforcement and highlighted innovative solutions. The speaker also emphasized the intersection of traditional disciplines like botany and forensics, inspiring researchers to adopt secure digital tools for data analysis and collection.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and research scholars of the Department of Botany. A dynamic Q&A session further enriched the interactive discussion, making the event both informative and impactful.

Prof. Veenu Kaul, President, IIC, University of Jammu, remarked, “This session has empowered our students and faculty with essential knowledge about cyber security, promoting a culture of digital responsibility.” The IIC reaffirmed its commitment to organizing such impactful initiatives that combine awareness, innovation, and practical learning.

The program commenced with a formal welcome by Prof. Susheel Verma, Head, Department of Botany, and concluded with insightful remarks by Prof. Yash Pal Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences. Dr. Romica proposed the vote of thanks, and Sugandhi conducted the proceedings.

The lecture concluded in the presence of esteemed faculty members including Dr. Sikander Pal, Dr. Geeta Sharma, Dr. Harish Chander, Dr. Skarma Nonzom, Dr. Romica Verma, Dr. Sajan Thakur, Dr. Abhishek Dutta, and Dr. Komal Verma.TDD
