JU organises Expert Lecture on Cyber Crime

Jammu, DD: The Law School, University of Jammu, organised an expert lecture on the topic “Cyber Crime and Investigation: Practical Approaches and Legal Insights” . Inspector B.S. Sasan, Investigating officer (Executive Wing) Cyber Police Station, Jammu was the resource-person for the same.

The resource person in his address, emphasized upon the importance of awareness and vigilance in the digital space, sharing valuable insights into how individuals can protect themselves from becoming victims of cybercrime. He also discussed about the role of the police force in investigating cybercrimes and the collaborative efforts with national and international organizations to tackle this ever-evolving issue. “The rapid advancement of technology has brought about numerous benefits, but it has also given rise to new challenges in the form of cybercrime,” said Mr. Sasan “

The event also included an interactive Q&A session, wherein the students had the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the expert on topics ranging from cyber security measures to legal frameworks surrounding cybercrime. The lecture was part of the Law School’s ongoing commitment to providing students with practical knowledge and fostering discussions on contemporary issues.

Earlier Prof. Seema Rohmetra, Director The Law School gave the welcome address wherein she stressed upon the pressing need of having such awareness lectures which emphasise upon the need for individuals, especially the youth, to understand the implications of their online activities along with the urgent need to safeguard their personal information in this increasingly interconnected world.

The lecture was coordinated by Dr. Shubha Vats and Dr. Palvi Mathavan Puri presented the vote of thanks. The students Anshika Gandhi and Arushi Mengi of 5 th semester conducted the event. The session was attended by around 60 students along with faculty members namely Dr. Monica Narang, Dr. Seema Sharma, Dr. Shubha Vats, Dr. Monika Bhardwaj, Dr. Vandita Sharma and Dr. Ramesh Kumar.DD
