K SANJAY MURTHY TAKES OVER AS C&AG OF INDIA

New Delhi :TDD, K Sanjay Murthy assumed office as the Comptroller and Auditor General of India
here today. He belongs to Indian Administrative Service of Himachal Pradesh cadre (1989
batch). Murthy succeeds Girish Chandra Murmu, who demitted office on Wednesday.
Prior to this, Shri Murthy was Secretary, Department of Higher Education in the Ministry of Education. He has also served as Additional Secretary in Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and CEO, National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation and as Joint Secretary in Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

President of India, Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of ofice and secrecy to Murthy at a function in the Rashtrapati Bhavan this morning. After the oath ceremony, Murthy came to the CAG ofice, where he was welcomed by the senior oficers of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department.

Before his tenure at the Centre, Murthy has served on important assignments in the State Government of Himachal Pradesh. He has wide experience in administrative, social, economic and infrastructure fields.TDD
