Kala Utsav 2025 Concludes in Kargil with Vibrant Student Performances and Felicitations

Kargil, DD, The District-level Kala Utsav 2025, an event aimed at promoting arts in education, was organized today by the Samagra Shiksha Education Department at the Ampitheatre Hall, TFC Kargil.

The concluding ceremony was graced by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil and Joint Director Information Imteeaz Kacho, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Sonam Wangchuk, ZEPO Zahra Banoo, school heads of Girls Higher Secondary School and Boys Higher Secondary School Kargil, jury members, teachers and participating students from across the district.

Addressing the gathering, ADC Kargil lauded the scintillating performances by students across various art forms. He congratulated the department and the organizing committee for successfully conducting Kala Utsav. He emphasized that students should channel their energy into nurturing their talents rather than indulging in unproductive activities. He also urged students to use the internet as a tool for learning and knowledge, while advising parents to understand their children’s vision and listen to their aspirations.

Imteeaz Kacho congratulated the winners and applauded all participants for their enthusiastic involvement. He encouraged students to continue working on and honing their skills.

Earlier, the ADC inspected the creative stalls set up by students, interacted with them, and appreciated their innovative presentations. The exhibits included miniature models depicting pastoral culture, wildlife, agriculture, paintings, and other thematic displays.

In his welcome address, CEO Sonam Wangchuk expressed happiness over the widespread participation of students from across the district. He particularly appreciated the visual art displays, especially the paintings, and expressed hope that students would continue to excel in their chosen art forms.

Nodal Officer Kala Utsav Sajjad Agha informed that 233 students from 36 private and government schools participated in 12 different art forms. He highlighted that in previous years, students from Kargil have excelled at both the Union Territory and National levels, bringing laurels to the district.

During the event, winners and participants from various schools were felicitated with mementos by the dignitaries as a token of appreciation. Competitions were held across multiple categories, including folk dance, storytelling, folk song, visual arts (2D and 3D), drama (solo and group), and instrumental music.

The concluding ceremony also featured vibrant cultural performances such as stage drama, storytelling (Zgrums), group dances, and other traditional presentations by students.

A panel of judges evaluated the performances to finalize the winners, who were felicitated on the occasion.
