We have launched a vigorous campaign under the banner Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq and subsequent public outreach programmes in the districts across J&K for restoration of Statehood, we will not stop till the dignity and honour of people is restored.
I want to tell the Modi Govt that another misadventure with respect to J&K would impact India globally, it would not help India in anyway. August 5 is not a day of pleasure, it is a sad day, a day of mourning for 1.40 crore people of J&K, Karra said.
People have been pushed to wall by downgrading J&K, which was an insult to their aspirations, Karra added and said we will not forget the disrespect meted out to Princely state of J&K, which was once a country, then full-fledged State, but the BJP Govt downgraded it to UT level, which has had never happened in the history rather UTs have made States, but the reality of J&K is different and contrary to the democratic system in India.
Karra slammed the delay in restoring Statehood, reiterating that congress Party will further intensify the statehood struggle and will take it to logical conclusion while urging the Party leaders and workers to intensify public outreach programmes under “Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq” which has become a household name and represents the urges and aspirations of 1.40 Corer residents of J&K, he said.
