Jammu, TDD:- JKPCC President Shri Tariq Hameed Karra today held an important meeting at the PCC HQ., with senior party colleagues to discuss the current political situation and the important issues faced by the people, especially in Jammu region apart from the organizational affairs and the AICC Nationwide Abhiyaan “ Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan” launched by the party.
The meeting was attended by S/Shri, Tara Chand-Former Dy. CM, Raman Bhalla-Working President, Ch. Lal Singh-Ex-MP, Th. Balwan Singh, Ravinder Sharma, Yogesh Sawhney, Ved Mahajan, Haji Abdul Rashid, Yashpaul Kundal, Naresh Gupta, Sdr. Surinder Singh Channi, Rajnish Sharma, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Smt. Indu Pawar, Nisaar Mandoo-Ex VP PCC, Sheikh Haider.
The meeting discussed at length the various issues faced by the people of cross sections especially in Jammu region and the role of Congress party to highlight and fight for those issues.
The various issues which came up for discussion include restoration of Statehood, Darbar move, issues of youth-record unemployment-fastrack recruitments, issues of daily wagers need based, contractual, adhoc, etc., Power tariff-Amnesty, Heavy taxations-toll tax, Mining sector, Jammu-Poonch railway line, Implementation of left out provisions of 73rd and 74th Amendments., Issues of farmers, Women empowerment, Reservations, Lambardars/Chowkidars, issues of POJK/West Pak Refugees, Kashmiri Migratns, Property Tax and various other important issues of the people of different sections.
The meeting also decided to hold a peaceful padyatra on January 18, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. as part of Nationwide Abhiyan of the party “Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan”. The yatra will start from Gandhi Chowk at Satwari to Dr. Ambedkar Chowk Panama crossing form 11:30 a.m. onwards to highlight the agenda and most important issues.
The meeting also discussed the organizational issues and the measures needed to strengthen the organization at the grass root level as recommended by the fact finding committee. The meeting unanimously accepted the various recommendations to restructure the organizational setup including bifurcation and creation of district units in the bigger districts, Constitution of assembly units over and above the block units in each constituency adequate in the organization and party tickets for various elections right from assembly to PRI’s to the young turks, appointment of assembly incharge from PCC besides improving the coordination and connect with the grass root level workers by the senior leadership and most importantly to go to the roots of the party by launching ‘BURARGOON KA SAMMAAN ” Abhiyaan remember the veteran leaders and workers in each district and assembly constituencies to strengthen the party.
The Abhiyaan was launched formally today by the PCC President by holding a remembrance function in the memory of veteran leader former MP and former minster Pt. Trilochan Dutt. The PCC President said that such programmes shall be held in every district throughout the year, after identifying all such leaders and prominent party workers in each constituency.TDD
