Jammu:TDD, In a heart-wrenching incident that shook the Kashmir Valley, Shashi Abrol, a resident of Talab Tillo, Jammu, fell victim to a terrorist attack in Ganderbal on Sunday. The attack, claimed by Pakistan-based militant outfit The Resistance Front (TRF), resulted in the deaths of Seven people, including construction workers and a doctor.

The tragedy took a particularly poignant turn as it occurred on Karwa Chauth, when Abrol’s wife was observing a fast for his long life. Sources reveal that around 6:00 PM, she had spoken to her husband, informing him of her plans to visit the temple and complete her fast after a video call with him. However, fate had other plans as armed terrorists struck the construction workers’ camp later sunday evening.

The mortal remains of Shashi Abrol were brought to his residence in Talab Tillo, Jammu, where scenes of inconsolable grief unfolded as family members broke down upon seeing the body. Today, his last rites were performed at the local crematorium with full honors, attended by a large gathering of mourners.

Notable political figures, including Jammu MP Jugal Kishore and Jammu & Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary,Javed Ahamed Dar Cabinet Minister J&K, were present at the funeral to pay their last respects.
Deputy CM Choudhary, speaking to the media, expressed his condolences and conveyed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s deep concern over the attack. “The government would never want its people to be killed like this.we will control this,” Choudhary stated, adding that the family’s demands would be conveyed to the Chief Minister.
The attack targeted both local and non-local workers at the construction site, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the region. The incident has sparked renewed concerns about the safety of civilians and workers in the Kashmir Valley.
The loss of Shashi Abrol and seven others in this senseless act of violence has not only left families devastated but has also raised questions about the security measures in place to protect civilian workers in vulnerable areas. The authorities have assured a thorough investigation into the incident and promised appropriate action against the perpetrators.
