Diplomat Correspondent

Srinagar, (DD) Justice Augustine George Masih of the Supreme Court of India recently visited Jammu and Kashmir on a private tour with his family, exploring prominent tourist destinations such as Gulmarg, Baisaran Road in Pahalgam, Dachigam National Park, Srinagar’s traditional markets, and the scenic Dal Lake.

Though the visit remained low-key, it carried strong symbolic value, underscoring the region’s growing stability and its revival as a major tourist destination.

“Kashmir is a land of breathtaking beauty and unmatched warmth,” Justice Masih said. “My family and I felt not only deeply welcomed but also entirely safe and secure throughout our visit. The serenity of its landscapes is matched by the professionalism of its security forces.”

He also expressed satisfaction over the resurgence of tourism in the Valley, stating:

“It is heartening to see tourists returning to Kashmir. Their presence reflects renewed confidence in the region’s hospitality and safety.”

Justice Masih’s remarks add to the increasing recognition of Kashmir as a peaceful, welcoming destination—frequented by dignitaries, travellers, and nature lovers alike(DD)
