Kathua:DD, The police department in Kathua has been directed to launch investigations in all the narcotic cases in the district and unearth the hawala network.
The official spokesperson said that in order to improve crime disposal and reduce pendency of cases, SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma, IPS, undertook crime review with all Investigating Officers (IOs) of PS Rajbagh, in which supervisory officers SP(operations) Mukund Tibrewal, IPS, SDPO Border, Dheeraj, and Prosecution Officer also remained present.
In the meeting threadbare discussion of all under investigation cases took place. In each case specific directions were imparted and a timeline for disposal was given by SSP.
She stressed on the need to improve efforts to nab accused, whose arrest is pending in under investigation cases. Further IOs were directed to get proclamation issued, for all such accused from competent courts under 84 BNSS, such that property of absconders is attached.
In NDPS cases, SSP directed all to work on backward and forward linkages, such that the entire narcotic smuggling chain is brought out.
The directions for mandatory financial investigation involving bank account freezing, unearthing Hawala Network etc were also given in all narcotic cases.
All Investigating Officers having bovine smuggling UI cases, were tasked to get driving license and route permit cancelled for all accused and vehicles involved in their cases.
Further SSP directed SHO to maintain a list of repeat offenders, such that their vehicles are impounded with the help of the Traffic and Transport department.
She directed that special teams will be formed to arrest accused presently residing outside UT, such that cases are brought to logical conclusion, and help from Local jurisdictional police may also be sought in the same.
In the end , SSP reiterated that Kathua police remains committed to safeguard lives and property of its residents, and police will leave no stone unturned to bring perpetrators of crime to justice.DD
