Kishtwar: DD, Kishtwar Police in collaboration with the Civil Administration Kishtwar today organized an awareness programme on the implementation of new criminal laws at the Conference Hall, R&B Building, Chatroo.
The event was led by SHO PS Chatroo Inspector Vikram Singh.
The programme witnessed the participation of SDM Chatroo, Tehsildar Chatroo, Tehsildar Mughal Maidan, BDO Chatroo, TSO Chatroo, Naib Tehsildars, administrative staff members, and respected persons from the Chatroo area, along with the general public.
During the session, participants were briefed on the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). Special emphasis was laid on the use of digital tools to facilitate transparent investigations and speedy justice delivery to the common people.
Additionally, attendees were sensitized about special provisions related to women’s safety and offences under the new laws. The programme also focused on educating citizens about their rights and duties as outlined in the updated legal framework.
This initiative by J&K Police District Kishtwar, in coordination with the District Administration Kishtwar, reflects a strong commitment to enhancing public awareness and ensuring the effective implementation of the new criminal laws for the betterment of society.DD
