Kishtwar, DD, The Kishtwar Rifleman Ravi Kumar Memorial Cricket Tournament, organized under Operation Sadbhavna by the Kishtwar Battalion of the Indian Army, has entered the semi-final stage at the historic Chowgan Kishtwar
This year’s edition saw an overwhelming participation of 83 teams, including a girls’ team for the first time, reflecting growing enthusiasm for cricket in the region. The tournament features 68 teams in the men’s category, 12 in the under-15 boys’ category, and 3 girls’ teams.
The tournament is held in memory of Late Rifleman Ravi Kumar, a braveheart from Trigam, Kishtwar, who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation and was posthumously awarded the Kirti Chakra.
The grand final match is scheduled for 23rd March 2025, and anticipation is running high among cricket lovers and the local community. This initiative, beyond honoring the valiant soldier, aims to promote sportsmanship, unity, and youth engagement in Kishtwar.DD
