Kishtwar’s Pride: Justice Sanjay Parihar Rises from Palmar Village to High Court Bench

Kishtwar: DD, In a proud moment for the Chenab Valley, Justice Sanjay Parihar has been elevated as a Judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, becoming the first-ever High Court Judge from District Kishtwar.
His remarkable journey from the remote village of Palmar to the prestigious High Court Bench stands as a testament to hard work, perseverance, and dedication.

Born in December 1968 in Palmar, Kishtwar, Justice Parihar’s early life was marked by simplicity and determination.
He completed his schooling at a government school in his native village before pursuing higher studies. Driven by a passion for justice, he went on to earn a law degree from the University of Jammu, laying the foundation for an illustrious career in law.

In 1993, Justice Parihar obtained his license to practice law, beginning his professional journey. His exceptional performance soon led him to join the judicial service in 1997 as a Munsiff. Over the years, he held various important judicial positions, and in 2008, he rose to the rank of District Judge.

His elevation to the High Court in April 2025 marks the pinnacle of a distinguished career spanning over three decades.
