Kargil, DD, The Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil today strongly condemned the cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the tragic killing of innocent tourists.
As a mark of respect and solidarity, LAHDC Kargil observed a two-minute silence and declared a half-day off to mourn the demise of innocent lives.
The LAHDC Kargil expresses its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and prays for the speedy recovery of those injured in the attack.
Executive Councilor, Kacho Mohammad Feroz said, “We stand in solidarity with the people who lost their precious lives and the nation as a whole in this hour of grief. Such acts of terrorism are a threat to peace and stability in the region and undermine the efforts of those working towards a more peaceful and prosperous future.”
On behalf of the people of Kargil and LAHDC Kargil, EC Feroz demanded that the perpetrators of this heinous crime be brought to justice swiftly. He called upon the security forces to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of citizens and tourists alike.
“We appreciate the bravery and sacrifices of our security forces who are working tirelessly to maintain peace and order in the region,” he said.
EC Feroz extended full support of LAHDC Kargil to the Union Territory of J&K and the Government of India and said the people of Kargil are always ready to extend their support to protect the sovereignty of the nation.DD
