Leh,DD: The 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah (National Nutrition Month) was celebrated today across various Anganwadi Centers within the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) project of Leh District.
The day featured a strong emphasis on promoting local resources for child development and health, alongside the observance of Deworming Day.
Awareness sessions were a key component of the celebrations at numerous Anganwadi Centers. These sessions focused on educating attendees about the benefits and uses of local products and traditional toys in fostering children’s growth and learning. A significant highlight was the promotion of Do-It-Yourself (DIY) indigenous toy making, encouraging creativity and the utilization of readily available materials.
In addition to the nutrition-focused activities, Deworming Day was also observed at various Anganwadi Centers throughout Leh District, ensuring that children received essential health interventions.
