LG Manoj Sinha Distributes Appointment Letters to Families of Terror Victims in Srinagar

Diplomat Correspondent

Srinagar,(DD) In a major outreach aimed at rehabilitating those affected by terrorism, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday distributed appointment letters to 158 families who lost their loved ones in terror-related incidents. The distribution ceremony was held at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar.

The appointments are part of a larger initiative under which 250 families across Jammu and Kashmir will be provided with government jobs. While 158 beneficiaries received their letters today, the remaining families will be issued appointment orders at the district level over the coming days.

The beneficiaries belong to various districts across the Kashmir Valley, including Baramulla, Bandipora, and Kupwara in the north; Budgam, Ganderbal, and Srinagar in central Kashmir; and Pulwama, Shopian, and Anantnag in the south. These families have endured years of hardship after losing members to acts of terrorism.

The initiative forms part of a sustained effort by the administration to recognise the pain and sacrifices of civilian victims of terrorism and to provide their families with meaningful employment opportunities.

Earlier phases of the drive included the distribution of 40 appointment letters in Baramulla on 13 July and 80 in Jammu on 28 July. The administration has reiterated its commitment to supporting the affected families and ensuring their integration into mainstream social and economic life.(DD)
