Jammu, (TDD) Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) Regional Centre in Jammu, marking a significant step in promoting and preserving the region’s rich art and cultural heritage.
Addressing the gathering, the LG highlighted the enduring relevance of Jammu’s folk traditions, which he described as the foundation of societal values and ideals. “The IGNCA’s regional centre will create a framework for nurturing cultural virtues and enhancing quality of life while fostering traditional wisdom and knowledge,” said LG Sinha.
He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and IGNCA President Ram Bahadur Rai for establishing the regional centre in Jammu, which he believes will strengthen efforts to enrich local folk traditions and promote artistic heritage.

The LG also commended IGNCA and the J&K SCERT for initiatives like Toycathon, which encourage grassroots innovation by engaging youth in designing toys based on local culture and the lives of regional heroes.
