Srinagar,(DD)Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, on Friday visited the Special National Integration Camp (SNIC) 2025 at Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar, commending the efforts of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in promoting unity, discipline, and national pride among the youth.
Organized by the JK&L Directorate under the leadership of Additional Director General Maj Gen Anupinder Bevli, VSM, the camp brought together 340 cadets and Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) from across India. The camp aims to foster national integration, cultural harmony, and leadership skills among young participants.
The Lieutenant Governor was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour by the NCC cadets, followed by a vibrant cultural programme reflecting the country’s rich diversity.
The event was attended by senior dignitaries, including Shri Shantmanu (Financial Commissioner Higher Education), Shri Vijay Kumar Bidhuri (Divisional Commissioner Kashmir), Shri Sarmad Hafeez (Secretary, Youth Services & Sports), Shri Akshay Labroo (Deputy Commissioner Srinagar), Mrs. Ritu Mahajan (Additional Secretary, School Education), Padma Shri awardee Shri Farooq Ahmad Mir, and senior Army officers including Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava, AVSM, SM, GOC Chinar Corps, and Maj Gen Saurabh Sharma, SM, COS Chinar Corps.
In his address, LG Sinha praised the NCC’s vital contribution to nation-building. “The strength of India lies in its unity in diversity, and it is truly heartening to witness this unity on full display at SNIC Srinagar,” he said.
He also congratulated JUO Abida Afreen and Cadet Mohit Knathia of the JK&L Directorate for successfully summiting Mt. Everest in May 2025, and appreciated SCC Ekta Kumari for leading the NCC Girls Contingent on Kartavya Path during Republic Day 2025. The LG further acknowledged the role of NCC cadets in humanitarian efforts during Operation Sindhoor.
Calling the cadets “agents of positive transformation,” Sinha urged them to carry forward the values of discipline, unity, and service into their communities. “Your energy and commitment are a beacon of hope for a stronger, more inclusive India,” he added.
The visit of the Lieutenant Governor served as a morale booster for the cadets and reaffirmed the importance of youth engagement in shaping the nation’s future(DD)
