Kupwara, (DD): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today visited the Pakistan shelling-affected areas of Tanghdar in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district to assess the damage and assure affected families of government support.
During the visit, the LG surveyed damaged homes and commercial establishments, accompanied by senior administrative officials. He met with local residents to hear their grievances and understand the challenges they face in the aftermath of the shelling.
“Several houses and business structures have suffered damage. While immediate assistance has already been provided to many families, a few are still awaiting help,” he said. “I believe what has been extended so far is not enough.”
Sinha assured that a comprehensive relief and rehabilitation plan will be prepared by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir in coordination with other senior officials. “Based on this plan, we will approach the central government to ensure that the remaining affected families are properly rehabilitated,” he added.(DD)
