Srinagar, (DD): In a crucial prelude to the annual Amarnath Yatra, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday convened an important meeting with prominent members of civil society at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar.
The meeting began at approximately 5:35 PM and saw participation from several high-profile figures, including Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Principal Secretary to the LG Mandeep K. Bhandari, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir V. K. Bidhuri, and senior police officials.
Around 77 civil society representatives from various sectors—transport, tourism, trade, and social organizations—attended the interaction. The session aimed to encourage community participation and gather valuable feedback to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the Yatra, which is scheduled to commence on July 3.
Discussions centered around logistical arrangements, traffic management, pilgrim safety, and the importance of collective effort in facilitating a peaceful and well-organized pilgrimage.
