Ganderbal, (DD): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said that the last ten years have witnessed the establishment of premier educational institutions in Jammu and Kashmir, giving a major boost to the region’s academic landscape.
Speaking at the inauguration of the new administrative block at the Central University of Kashmir (CUK), the Lieutenant Governor said that the human capital being nurtured in these universities will play a vital role in nation-building.
“It is a fact that in the past 8–10 years, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, institutions of national importance such as IIT, NIFT, Central University, and AIIMS have been established in J&K. The Union Territory has greatly benefited from these centres of excellence,” Sinha remarked.
Highlighting reforms in higher education, he said the changes being introduced in the curriculum will not only empower students but also contribute to national growth.
Expressing confidence in CUK’s potential, the LG said he envisions the university ranking among the top institutions by 2047. “I want the committee members of the Central University to raise its stature to a global level,” he added.
Urging students to broaden their horizons, Sinha said, “The students need to study beyond the syllabus. I am sure the youth of CUK will embrace this vision and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s development.”(DD)
