LT GEN RAGHU SRINIVASAN, DGBR INSPECT PROJECTS ALONG LAC IN EASTERN LADAKH HIMANK

Leh,TDD,Lt Gen Raghu Srinivasan, VSM, Director General Border Roads (DGBR), inspected strategically important projects being executed by Project Himank along LAC in Eastern Ladakh on 21 Sep 2024. Brig Vishal Srivastava, Chief Engineer of Project Himank briefed the DGBR about the progress of work at the site. DGBR commended the excellent performance of Team Himank and encouraged the team members to maintain their momentum and meet project deadlines.

During his visit, DGBR highlighted the importance of resource efficiency and the timely completion of projects without compromising on quality standards and safety. He also stressed upon the need to adopt advanced technologies and best construction practices to accelerate the pace of work in line with the Border Roads Organisation’s commitment to modernisation. It is to be noted that on 10 Sep 2024, DGBR also visited Advanced Landing Ground (renamed as Mudh – Nyoma ALG), which would be the highest landing ground in the world. Project Himank of BRO is constructing the airfield on a war footing and the runway part is expected to be ready by Nov 2024. Located in sensitive Eastern Ladakh Sector the airfield is being developed as a staging ground for the deployment of troops in forward areas.

The DGBR also interacted with villagers of Hanle as part of the “Vibrant Village Programme” acquainted himself with their concerns and assured them of BRO’s support for the development of remote areas in Ladakh.TDD
