Maj Gen Shailendra inagurated NDA training cell ‘Lakshya’ at Sainik School Nagrota

Nagrota :TDD,Sainik School Nagrota witnessed a momentous occasion on 04 December 2024, coinciding with Indian Navy Day, as Maj Gen Shailendra Singh, SM, Chief of Staff Headquarters 16 Corps & Chairman, Local Board of Administration, inaugurated several new facilities aimed at enhancing the institution’s infrastructure and training capabilities.
The event began with the General Officer paying solemn tributes to the fallen heroes at the Shaurya Smarak, followed by the formal inaugurations and a visit to the construction site of the Girls’ Hostel at the school. Among the key additions to the school campus are:
LAKSHYA – NDA Training Cell: Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, this asset will play a pivotal role in conducting workshops, Guest lectures, guided training and comprehensive preparation for the NDA exam thereby enhancing their skill sets to achieve the vision and mission of this premier institution.

An Extended Academic Block: Housing essential offices, including those of the Vice Principal, Senior Master, Training Office, NCC Office, and the Counsellor’s Room, provide a centralized hub for academic and co-curricular management.

Re-laid Internal Roads: Improving connectivity and aesthetic appeal of the school premises.

The ceremony commenced with an introductory speech by the Principal, Capt (IN) Shibu Devasia, who extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guest. Addressing a select audience of staff and cadet achievers, Maj Gen Shailendra Singh, SM expressed his admiration for the school’s commitment to excellence in nurturing future leaders of the Armed Forces.
He also conveyed his best wishes to the 21 cadets preparing for their upcoming SSB interviews, encouraging them to strive for success in their endeavours. A formal cake-cutting ceremony was held to celebrate Navy Day, symbolizing the school’s tribute to the valour and dedication of the Indian Navy. The General Officer later engaged in an interactive session with the cadets and staff, fostering motivation and camaraderie among all present.
The event concluded on a high note, leaving the cadets and staff inspired to continue their journey of excellence in academics, training, and leadership. This landmark occasion reflects Sainik School Nagrota’s unwavering commitment to shaping disciplined, confident, and patriotic individuals ready to serve the nation.TDD
