MAJOR FRAUD UNEARTHED: CRIME BRANCH BOOKs SBI BANK MANAGER & Ex-COP AMONG 11 OTHERS INVOLVING OF ₹ 3.12 CRORE

Jammu:DD, Crime Branch has booked State Bank of India’s Manager and a voluntarily retired cop among eleven others in a fraud case of Rs 3.12 crores, involving MBBS seat scam, visa fraud, government jobs, and land scams.
The officials said that “The CB registered an FIR against SBI Bank Manager – resident of Bahu Apartment in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and others on two separate written complaints.
The complaint claimed that the SBI Manager duped the complainants of a huge amount of Rs.1.78 crore on the pretext of selling a petrol pump at Kalakote in Rajouri under the name and style of Kala Kote Filling Station, of which he was not the owner.


Accordingly, Crime Branch has also registered an FIR against selection grade constable – resident of Preet Nagar Digiana in Jammu on three written complaints wherein it is alleged that the former police official, duped the complainants of Rs 72.93 lakh on the pretext of selling off land at Birpur and Jammu and a residential house at Gangyal, Jammu, of which he (ex-cop) was not the owner.
The CB registered another case against notorious fraudster Fayaj Ahmad Rather and Raja Fayaj (Prop. of Fayaj International Education Consultancy located in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu) – resident of 111 Aglar Chirat Zainapora, Shopian for duping Rs 40.00 lakh from the complainant Anil Gupta on the false promise of arranging admission of his son in MBBS course in ASCOMS Sidhra, Jammu.
The Crime Branch has registered yet another FIR against five accused namely Mohd Issaq and Mukhtiar Ahmad of Zanheri Thathri, Doda, Tariq Hussain and Mudassir Hussain of Hatmulla district Kupwara and Sher Mohammed of Haloor Gandoh, Doda for duping Rs 12.70 lakh from four complaints on the pretext of providing government jobs.
Similarly, the CB has also registered a case against Sahil Bhagat, resident of 222 Shaheed Bharat Singh Nagar Sujanpur Pathankot and others for duping Rs 36.89 lakh from seven complainants of Bishnah, Jammu and Swankha Samba on the pretext of sending them abroad on work visa.
The fraudsters also provided fake visas, purportedly for Italy and Australia to the complainants.
Senior Superintendent of Police Crime Jammu, Benam Tosh confirmed that five cases viz. FIRs No. 39,40,41,42 and 43 of 2025 have been registered at P/S EOW Crime Branch Jammu and investigations are underway.DD
