Major Reshuffle in J&K Forest Department: 14 Officers Transferred to Strengthen Field Operations

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha approves changes to boost administrative efficiency

Srinagar, (DD) In a bid to enhance grassroots-level efficiency and streamline the functioning of the Forest Department, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered a major reshuffle involving 14 officers, including senior Indian Forest Service (IFS) officials and Divisional Forest Officers (DFOs), across Jammu and Kashmir.

The transfer order, issued by the Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Forest Department, states that the changes are being made in the interest of administration with immediate effect.

Key Transfers and Postings:

Dr. M. K. Kumar (IFS, AGMUT:2006), Chief Conservator of Forests (Jammu), has been given additional charge of Regional Director, Social Forestry, Jammu.

Irfan Rasool Wani (IFS, AGMUT:2006), Chief Conservator of Forests (Kashmir), will also hold additional charge of Regional Director, Social Forestry, Kashmir.

Satyendra Maurya (IFS, AGMUT:2020), DFO Baramulla, is transferred as DFO Udhampur.

Shahbazul Rahman (IFS, AGMUT:2022), DFO Mahore, is posted as DFO Doda.

Bishan Dass (DCF), currently In-charge General Manager, P&P Jammu, is posted as DFO Ramban, replacing Ankit Sinha (IFS, AGMUT:2022), who will await further posting at PCCF/HOFF, J&K.

Zahid Aslam Moghal (DCF), earlier under orders for Ecology, Environment & Remote Sensing, Jammu, is now posted as DFO Baramulla.

Owais Farooq Mir (DCF), Project Coordinator WUCMA, is transferred as DFO Kamraj.

Mushtaq Hussain Choudhary (ACF), I/c Social Forestry Poonch, is appointed DFO Poonch.

Naveed Iqbal (ACF), I/c DFO Poonch, will now serve as DFO Rajouri.

Officials said the reshuffle is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to infuse accountability, strengthen forestry operations, and improve service delivery across the Union Territory.
