SAMBA: Apni Party’s Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh today demanded that the Govt shall make 50-years of continuous stay in Jammu and Kashmir for the non-locals/outsiders to become Domicles of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Former Minister raised this alarm during a meeting at Raya area in Vijaypur Assembly Constituency in Samba District where he held deliberation about the public issues.
During this meeting, the people expressed anguish over the inflow of the outsiders, and grab of business, resources, and jobs.
“Their stay has been validated with a residency of mere 15 -years in J&K that makes them eligible to get Domicile of J&K that makes the employment prospects of the local youths difficult and hard, especially when the crises has grown up manyfolds,” said S. Manjit Singh.
He raised the question how the non-locals have taken over contracts, business, and employment in universities and other government institutions that has given rise to anger among the local youth.
Keeping in view the circumstances, and its adverse impact on the future of the educated youth of J&K, he said that the Govt shall increase the residency period up to 50 years for the outsiders to become Domicile of Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, while addressing the local issues of Raya Panchayat, the Former Minister expressed concern over the inconvenience faced by the local population because of no-flyover near the railway track.
He said that the Northern Railways or concerned authorities shall construct a flyover bridge near the railway track in Raya for the locals to reach their respective places in villages without waiting for hours in Raya.
He also demanded proper drinking water supply for the villagers as they complained about the poor supply system.
