FIR Registered; Police Urge Vigilance to Protect Yatra’s Sanctity

Ganderbal, (DD): In a determined effort to uphold the security and sanctity of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2025), Jammu and Kashmir Police have apprehended a man at the Baltal base camp for attempting to enter the yatra route using a forged registration card.
The accused has been identified as Shivam Mittal, son of Krishan Mittal, a resident of Dwarka Puri, Jagadhri, District Yamunanagar, Haryana.
Police said the individual had acquired the fake Yatra card through fraudulent means in an attempt to bypass the mandatory security checks in place for pilgrims.
Following the incident, a case under FIR No. 13/2025 has been registered at Police Station Sonamarg, and a detailed investigation is currently underway.
The police reiterated their commitment to ensuring a secure and smooth pilgrimage, stressing that strict legal action will be taken against those trying to subvert the verification process through deceit.
Authorities have also urged the public to remain alert and report any suspicious persons or attempts to use counterfeit or unauthorised Yatra documents.
