Many areas in Kishtwar plunge into darkness

Kishtwar: TDD,Many areas in the hilly district of Kishtwar have plunged into darkness, following snowfall.
Although the officials were tight lipped over the power crises, the locals have claimed that they have witnessed long hours power cuts in the district and many areas were without electricity amid the bone chilling cold weather conditions.
“The heating systems do not work and we have adopted traditional methods to keep the house warm, ” said one of the locals, wishing not to be quoted.
Meanwhile, it was appealed to the authorities to take initiative for stranlining the electricity system.
Pertinently, the fresh snowfall has brought respite from the long dry spell.

Responding to the Diplomat Digital that regarding power crises “The restoration team is on job (to restore the electricity).”
“With meagre field staff, we are trying our level best to restore all 11 KV feeders pertaining to s/d Kishtwar,” the officials, wishing not to be quoted told the Diplomat Digital. Pertinently, the power department lacks field staff, especially line men staff, as per the officials.TDD
