DC, SSP Kishtwar & LoP leave for affected village to lead rescue operation

KISHTWAR:DD, A massive cloud burst has been reported from a remote village in Padder Sub Division in Kishtwar District of Jammu and Kashmir.
The unconfirmed reports claim massive damages to the structures, and fear of loss to the human lives. However, official confirmation is awaited.
“Yes, we have reports of a cloud burst. We are sending rescue teams to the village,” SSP Kishtwar, Naresh Singh told Diplomat Digital.
As the situation has turned tragic, the SSP, and DC Pankaj Sharma, have left for cloud burst affected village, Padder to lead the rescue operation.
Meanwhile, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Legislative Assembly, Sunil Sharma along with other leaders has also rushed to the village Chishoti in Padder.
“I have received information from the local BJP workers about the cloudburst at village Chishoti – last point where four wheeler vehicles are parked and number of shops in shed have been established in the Shri Machail Yatra,” said LoP Sunil Sharma, speaking to the media in Kishtwar.
He said that the NDRF teams, and other rescue teams are going to launch full scale relief and rescue operations in the cloudburst affected area. Sharma along with the MLA Kishtwar Shagun Parihar have left for the affected village.
The locals said that the area is remote and inaccessible because of the heavy rains, and cloud burst. There is hardly any mobile connectivity to get to know about the ground situation, the locals claim. Further details are awaited.DD
