MD Jal Jeevan Mission, urges officials to prioritize the commissioning of schemes having achieved 75% progress in district Bandipora.

Bandipora, DD: Mission Director (MD), Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) J&K, Khurshid Ahmad Shah today chaired a meeting of all concerned officers in presence of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Mr. M.A Qadri to review the progress of works under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in district Bandipora.
Addressing the meeting, the Mission Director JJM impressed upon all the officers of Jal Shakti Department to schedule the works under JJM in a manner to avoid undue delays, specifically the procurement of filter media to prevent project hold-ups. He stressed upon the officers to gear up the execution of works without further delay so that the people are facilitated with the piped drinking water.
On the occasion, the chairs were appraised through a detailed PowerPoint presentation about the status of various ongoing JJM schemes in the district.
Reviewing the progress in execution of 121 schemes, it was informed that out of 240 allotted works pertaining to PHE Hydraulic Division Bandipora, PHE Division Sopore and Special Sub- Division (SSD) Gurez, 60 schemes &160 works have been completed so far and work is going on rest of the projects. It was also informed that out of 46695 household in 122 villages of the district 40695 households have been provided with Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC’s)
The Deputy Commissioner in his address, enjoined upon the officers to make concerted efforts for completion of all ongoing works within the stipulated time frame. He highlighted the efforts of the District Administration in resolving various issues arising during the execution of JJM works and impressed upon the officers that any pending land related or other administrative issues must be promptly brought to the attention of District Administration for prompt resolution.
The MD fixed timelines for execution of different works and directed the concerned officers to prioritize the commissioning of schemes which have achieved more that 75% progress within one and half months..
The Mission Director enjoined upon Executive Engineers to give a renewed push to enhance pace of providing Functional House Hold Tap Connections (FHTCs) and efforts towards Har Ghar Jal certification of reported villages must be accelerated as per the guidelines of National Jal Jeevan Mission, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.
Superintendent Engineer Mechanical North, Executive Engineers of PHE Division Bandipora/Sopore/ Ground Water, AEE SSD Gurez, District Project Management Unit Bandipora, AEEs, JEs and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.DD
