Bandipora, (DD): The Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Bandipora on Saturday suspended Dr. Sabia Salam, Medical Officer, for remaining absent from duty and failing to attend the official Independence Day celebrations.
According to the suspension order, Dr. Salam did not report for her scheduled duty on August 14, 2025, which affected patient care at the hospital. On August 15, she also skipped the Independence Day function despite written instructions to be present and without seeking prior permission.
The Medical Superintendent observed that such conduct amounted to “disrespect and disregard for a National Event and reflected indiscipline unbecoming of a government servant.”
Exercising powers under Rule 31 of the J&K Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, read with Article 128 of the J&K Civil Service Regulations, Dr. Salam has been placed under suspension with immediate effect, pending enquiry.
During the suspension period, she will remain attached with the Head of Department, Ophthalmology, District Hospital Bandipora, and will receive subsistence allowance as per rules(DD)
