Reasi: DD, Indian Army successfully conducted a medical patrol for the Gujjar and Bakarwal communities in the remote area of Chandi, Reasi. This initiative aimed at providing much-needed healthcare services to the underserved population in the area, known for its rugged terrain and limited access to medical facilities. The medical team, comprising of Indian Army doctors, paramedics and healthcare professionals, set up a temporary medical camp in the heart of Chandi (Balmatkote). Local residents were given free medical consultations, treatment and medicines.
The team also conducted health awareness sessions, emphasizing preventive care and hygiene. Speaking on the occasion, The Indian Army said, “This medical patrol is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure the welfare of the remote and marginalized communities in the region. The Gujjar and Bakarwal communities have long faced challenges in accessing quality healthcare, and we are committed to bridging this gap.” The medical patrol received an overwhelming response, with scores of people from surrounding villages arriving to seek medical help.
The Indian Army also provided basic medical supplies to assist the local community in managing their health needs until the next medical outreach. This event underscores the Indian Army’s continuous efforts to support and serve the local population, not only in times of conflict but also in addressing their day-to-day challenges.
