Rajouri: DD, With the aim of providing basic medical facilities to the people residing in the village of Alal, Rajouri. The Indian Army organized a medical patrolling programme. The initiative was taken to create awareness amongst the people residing in remote areas regarding various diseases and their symptoms, alongwith pro-active measures to stem the tide of the same. The Indian Army medical patrol interacted with the villagers including Sarpanch and Panches and the local populace. Indian Army representatives provided assistance with free health check-up & medicines were also provided to the people. A total of 16 villagers (including 12 Gents and four Children) were interacted with and were distributed medicines during the medical patrol. Requisite consultation and medicines were provided to the local populace who availed medical benefits. This programme helped local people to avail medical facilities provided by Indian Army, which is otherwise extremely challenging considering the terrain and remoteness of the area. A Lecture was also organised during this medical patrol to emphasize on importance of good eating habits, balanced diet plan and maintaining personal hygiene and sanitation to increase happiness quotient amongst local populace in the area. This event evoked great enthusiasm amongst the local population. The genuine effort taken up by Indian Army to organise the medical patrol was appreciated by the entire population in the village. The people gathered at the venue and sought constructive suggestions to improve the livelihood of the residents. This endeavor by Indian Army to reach out to the population residing in remote areas, where civil administration has limited accessibility, will go a long way in developing and strengthening trust between Indian Army and Awam.DD
