Mendhar,DD, The Mendhar Fest 2025, organized by the Mendhar Battalion of the Bhimber Gali Brigade under the banner “Building Strength, Building Character,” was conceived as a platform to showcase athletic excellence and reinforce community cohesion. Held in early December at the well‑prepared OP Hill Stadium, the festival brought together school teams, government‑department squads and local clubs, offering young players a chance to compete, learn and grow. By promoting structured sport, the event aims to instill discipline, teamwork and resilience—qualities that extend far beyond the cricket field and contribute to the holistic development of the region’s youth.
Chief guest interacted and motivated the players in Semifinal matches. The event was graced with distinguished guest who walked the grounds, chatted with players and addressed a packed stadium. In his address he praised the dedication of the athletes, encouraged them to pursue excellence both on and off the field, and highlighted sport as a catalyst for personal growth and social harmony. His words resonated through the crowd, energising participants and reinforcing the festival’s core message that character is forged through sporting endeavour.
Today’s semifinals at OP Hill Stadium delivered the excitement the fest promised. In the first clash, Mendhar Club out‑shone PWD with a hard‑fought win, pulling off a decisive victory that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. The second semifinal saw GDC Mendhar pull off a surprise upset over Eklavya Model Residential School, delivering a performance that will be talked about all the way to tomorrow’s final.
