Jammu Police advices people to refrain from venturing around water bodies, People residing in low-lying areas & near major water bodies shall remain extra-vigilant

Jammu:DD, Metrological Department has issued a weather advisory forecasting two spells of moderate to heavy rains with brief instance showers most likely in Jammu, Kathua, Rajouri, Reasi, Doda, Samba, and Udhampur within next 12 hours.
The Met department has said that heavy to intense showers may generate flashfloods / landslides at few vulnerable places.
Jammu Police, in view of the fresh forecast, has advised the general public to exercise utmost caution and refrain from venturing in or around water bodies including rivers, streams, and nallahs until there is improvement in the weather.
Besides, the people residing in low-lying areas and near major water bodies are advised to remain extra-vigilant and should be ready for advance evacuation in case of any emergency.
