Anantnag, (DD) A devastating fire reduced a government primary school to ashes in the Malpora area of Ranipora, Anantnag, during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
According to officials, the fire broke out suddenly, engulfing the government-run SSA primary school. The flames intensified after a gas cylinder inside the building exploded, causing extensive damage to the structure.
Fire tenders and police teams rushed to the spot and managed to bring the blaze under control. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. While preliminary assessments suggest it could be accidental, officials are not ruling out any possibilities.
