Kathua:DD, A minor among four tribal men were rescued by the police when they struck in the middle of Ravi River in Lakhanpur in Kathua District.
Police said that they received an information through PCR Kathua that few persons were stuck in the sudden flash flood due to the heavy rainfall occurring in hilly areas as a result of which sudden flood came in the Ravi River.
Mohammed Shafi (60), son of Mahwali; Reshma (50), wife of Mohammed Shafi; Parveena (28), daughter of Mohammed Shafi; and two year old minor child, all residents of Lakhanpur.
Initially, SHO Police Station Lakhanpur Inspector Tariq Ahmed alongwith NDRF/SDRF team, Pathankot Police and civil administration swung into the action and they immediately rescued all three people, and one minor from flash flood from opposite Shahpur Kandi Ravi River.
Advisory: In view of heavy rainfall in Kathua District water level in most of the River/Nallahs is continuously rising.
